Following the events of the May 2023 flood, the Santerno valley underwent profound change as a result of a series of landslides that compromised its viability and generated temporary displacement of areas and homes. The request in urgency was to support local governments and emergency response agencies in surveying and assessing the damage and critical issues arising from these events. Through inspections and a geo-referenced survey, an analysis was conducted and more than 230 landslides were surveyed for which a special form was filled out and criticalities assessed in systematic coordination with the facilities involved. The activity was carried out through an assignment to UP Urban Planning Ltd. aimed at covering out-of-pocket expenses and fielded 6 geologists.
